Our awesome clients now friends Haven & Hank (it’s so cool how the client/friend relationship becomes synonymous with our couples) knew some killer spots for creative portraiture in the ridiculously textured historic DUMBO district in Brooklyn. It’s of special note that these two have style to spare. We posted a pre-collage while we were still in N.Y. (this is the same dame we were speaking of before that’s in RENT on Broadway which we saw while we were there). Now you can check out a more in depth show below. If I had to pick a shoot that personifies my style, this would be it. Enjoy!
Anna & I had the extreme pleasure of doing a wonderful photo shoot with our friends/clients Amy & Mike who reside in Manhattan. They are some of the sweetest, kindest people we have had the privilege of working with. Man I love my job! Click on the link below to check out their slideshow.
Michelle Buckley the fantastic designer/coordinator of "Details, Details" wrote this article for proposal to Inside Weddings and couldn’t have described this marvelous event any better (below). Matt sitting under the "drugs" signage has humorous intent, as he and Jenifer are both pharmaceutical agents.
A favorite watering hole of hipsters and celebrities alike, The Parker Palm Springs was the perfect desert oasis for Jenifer and Matthew’s nuptials. Anticipating a guest list almost completely filled with people from out-of-state, the couple decided to make it a mini-vacation for them as well.
When Jenifer decided on a date, she had no idea that the weekend she picked happened to coincide with Coachella, a massive two-day concert taking place only miles from the hotel. Concerned that this would somehow affect their day, Jenifer was pleasantly surprised to find that all of her guests found accommodations and some even caught the first night of the concert.
Jenifer worked closely with Fiore Designs on her décor. They chose to play off of The Parker’s colorful palette and incorporate shades of pink and orange florals into the eclectic setting. Originally scheduled for the Croquet Lawn, their interfaith ceremony (Jewish and Christian) moved into the Mafyia Suite at the last minute due to the scorching temperatures. The move worked in the couple’s favor as the light streaming through the soaring windows lent an ethereal feel while a Spanish guitarist provided ambient music.
The cocktail hour featured tray-passed pink lemonade spiked with a bit of vodka while guests mingled around the fire pit. Tray passed vegetable spring rolls, parmesan artichoke hearts, sea scallops, cozy shrimp, and walnut tartlets greeted curious guests and three beautiful cheese displays sat patiently during the extended cocktail hour (actually hour and a half). Jenifer incorporated her love of all things sweet by replacing their cocktail floral arrangements with candy-filled apothecary jars.
Once the ballroom doors opened, guests were escorted into a glamorous room of bold pinks. The seven-piece band was already in full swing and servers waited attentively.
After a boisterous Hora and emotional toasts, guests were introduced to The Parker’s culinary expertise. Guests dined on mushroom napoleon, Mesclun greens and fresh raspberries served from a coconut shell, and a choice of Chilean sea bass or Filet of beef.
Once again, Jenifer’s sense of playfulness came out when in lieu of a wedding cake she offered guests mini cupcakes, pink delights with tangerine flowers. A Sunday brunch was the perfect end to their festive weekend.
Anna & I had the opportunity to shoot at the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts & Golden Gate Park for Angie & Louis' engagement session. They are the sweetest couple.
This was the first time I had been to The Palace of Fine Arts and it was a sight to behold! It had a classic quality I'm not used to seeing in American buildings. It was built for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 and designed by architect Bernard Maybeck.
Anna & I are excited and honored to be sponsored by such a remarkable and innovative company. Below is the announcement from Fujifilm’s monthly cable release.
