I know this isn't something I typically post about, but it was just so interesting I couldn't resist. I was reading the LA Times & saw this article on Green Crude made by Sapphire Energy. This new fuel is made from CO2, non-potable water (could be salt water), sunlight, & algae. It would be carbon neutral and could be available in 3 short years. The insane bonus is that it could use all of the current oil industry infrastructure including refineries, transport trucks, and I don't even want to go into the positive political/financial implications for our country. All Photos from this post taken from Sapphire Energies' website.

The Bread Basket

I had the privilege of shooting for my friends, owners of The Bread Basket - Paul & Gilbert. They made some cakes for publication/advertising & set them up at their beautiful 5,000 square foot house in Camarillo. When I arrived they had 4 separate cakes for me to shoot inside these beautiful sets. Paul made all of them that very morning – mad skills! FYI, The Bread Basket has the tastiest & most beautiful cakes around (if you can’t tell already!)

Krisa + Jeromie

We photographed our beautiful couple Krisa + Jeromie at the peak of the Rose Garden’s bloom in front of the SB Mission. We love living in SB cause there is so many locations to shoot. Later, we went to a beach in Montecito with these decaying stairs. I love the rough texture in combination with the ocean water.

Chris + Amanda Neil

As many of you know getting a slideshow up during the wedding is an insane task, or as one of their guests from England who was a fellow photographer said, “mental.” But Anna & I are able to tag team it and get them up for every wedding. We love it because it stokes people out during the event and ads a special ambiance for our bride, groom & their guests to see images we captured while the emotions are still very new. This wedding is fresh from last Saturday for our beautiful couple Chris + Amanda at their families’ property, the Rubicon Estate, home of Francis Ford Coppola. We were honored to stay at their guesthouse and have brunch with them the next morning and were none other than overwhelmed by their hospitality, treating us like family. Thanks again for such an honor. For more info on how to get “mental,” and ask us how to make a slideshow during the wedding visit photoforthepeople.com Also note that during the event the speediest way to get these done is using compressed small jpegs. So, final product has even more tonality, especially the film, ect.

Chris Neil + Amanda Blake

It's always an honor shooting for other creatives that understand some of the intricacies of your craft. Amanda & Chris are just that, uber creative. Chris is insanely busy with his own projects & also finds some time to work with his cousin Sophia Coppola, director of one of my favorite films – Lost in Translation. Amanda is an awesome talent and has designed jeans for Seven For All Mankind. We're shooting their wedding at Chris' uncle, Francis Ford Coppola's Vineyard on Saturday. They're so kind and fun, we can't wait for this weekend!! As a special bonus I found what Bill Murray said to Scarlett Johansson at the end of Lost In Translation: he he – youtube
